Obituary of Marcel Chartrand

The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Marcel Chartrand, who left us peacefully surrounded by family on Monday February 3, 2025, in Leamington Ontario. He was 78 years old.

Born in Sudbury Ontario on Dec 19, 1946, predeceased by his parents Alvor and Angeline (Rioux) Chartrand.

Marcel was a dedicated family man and married for 51 years to his soul mate Nicole (Trottier) prior to her passing September 1^st, 2020.

He is survived by his three children: Marc & Brigitte (Pigeon) of Canton, Michigan, Debbie Barrett of Windsor Ontario and Neil & My (Kyung) of Airdrie Alberta.

Grandfather to Alexandre Chartrand (Canton, Michigan), Grant Barrett (Aylmer Ontario), Nicholas and Éric Chartrand (Canton, Michigan)

He is also survived by his sisters: Joanne and Susan Chartrand from Sudbury, Ontario.

Marcel had a successful career in the grocery business, having worked for many wholesalers as a supervisor before returning to his roots in the grocery store as both a manager and owner.

He had a passion for hockey and left us with fond memories skating on our neighbourhood rink and playing in the family hockey game. We will miss him cheering on his kids and grandkids from the stands.

A celebration of life will follow this Spring in Sudbury Ontario.

The family would also like to provide a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Sun Parlor Home in Leamington Ontario for the exceptional care he was provided his last few years at “The Resort”.
