Obituary of Peter George Adlington
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Peter’s passing on March 6, 2025, at the age of 87. Predeceased by his 1st wife, Rosalie Adlington (1997). Loving husband of Mary Ellen Adlington. Beloved Dad of Cathie (Gerry) Hedges, Robert (Lisa) Adlington, Deborah Adlington, Daniel (Mary Ann) Adlington, and Donna (Jim) Roberts. Cherished Step-dad of Scott (Vicki) King, April King, and Ryan King. Proud Grandpa of Andrew, Lauren (Phil), Amanda (Jay), Sarah, Jessica (Devon), Anne Marie (Marco), Margaret Mae, Emanuel (Esther), Amber (Arthur), Nathan (Sandra), Noah, Shannon (Riley), late Elizabeth, Danielle, Aiden, Curtis, Nicholle, Peter (Danielle), Hannah, Eli, Madison, Peyton, and Valla. Great-grandpa of 15 great-grandkids. Dear brother-in-law of David (Donna) Bowyer. He will also be missed by extended family and friends.
Peter was a jack of all trades. He proudly began his working career with the Essex Kent Scottish Regiment and then Canadian Airforce as a Radar Technician, where he worked for 10 years. He retired from Canadian Pacific Railway after 25 years of service. In his retirement, he travelled to Russia and worked as a missionary, and back home he worked as a Computer Technician at Windsor Christian Fellowship.
Peter was a man of many talents. One of his great passions in life was singing, especially Country Music. He carried a tune with him wherever he went, and he excelled at needlework and cross stitch. He also loved his sports, especially football (Go Lions!) and baseball (Go Tigers!). Peter was very tech-minded and enjoyed tinkering on anything. He could strike up a conversation with anyone he met, anywhere at any time and he had a way of making people feel like family.
As per Peter’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
