Obituary of Margaret G. "Peggy" Pomeroy

Margaret G. Pomeroy, affectionately known as Peggy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at the age of 82 in Windsor, ON. Born on September 21, 1943, in Detroit, MI, Peggy lived a life marked by love, kindness, and selflessness, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

Peggy was a proud graduate of Holy Redeemer High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed a strong sense of community. Her dedication to her education was a testament to her character, setting the stage for her successful career. Peggy's professional life was spent at Russel A. Farrow custom broker and the Detroit Windsor Tunnel, where she was not only a valued employee but also a cherished colleague. Her commitment to her work was paralleled by her involvement in various associations, where she contributed her time and talents generously.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Peggy was known for her vibrant interests that brought joy to both herself and others. An avid fan of bingo, she could often be found enjoying the game with friends and family, her laughter and enthusiasm lighting up the room. Peggy's love for Irish music and Irish step dancing spoke to her cultural heritage, and she took great pleasure in sharing this passion with those around her.

Peggy's loving nature was the cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Noreen, and a beloved sister to Ann Stone (Robert), Tom Hurley (Cec), and Nora VanFossen (Charles). Though she is predeceased by her brother Mike, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Linda (Kuehnel) Hurley. Peggy's spirit will continue to live on through her cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and the close friends she made at Berkshire Care Centre, all of whom will miss her deeply.

Peggy's life was a tapestry of meaningful relationships and shared experiences. Her kindness was felt by everyone she met, and her selfless nature made her a beacon of light in her community. She had the rare ability to make each person feel valued and loved, a quality that will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

As we say goodbye to Peggy, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and dance. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will be cherished forever. Margaret G. Pomeroy's story is one of a life filled with purpose, joy, and an abundance of love—a story that will be told for generations to come.
