Obituary of Geoffrey William Smith

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Geoffrey Smith on Sunday November 23^rd 2025, at the age of 83.

He will be deeply missed by his family. Father of Susan and Brad Fitzsimmons, and their children Nathan (Alison) and Morgan (Ben); Ken and Sandi Smith, and their children Christina (Jessie) and Kyla (Bella); Chris (2022) and Cathy Smith (2024), and their children Caitlin (Rob) and Carly (Mark). Step-father to Cody McCowell; Colin McCowell (Laura) and his children Ryan, Owen and Evelyn. Proud great-grandfather to Roz, Harley, Blake, Archer, Henry and Thomas. Geoff is survived by his siblings Steve Smith (Marianne) and Christine MacEachern (Percy) and many nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by his childhood friend, Brent Costain, from Prince Edward Island.

Born in Redding, England and raised on the beautiful shores of Prince Edward Island, he lived a life filled with music, friendship, and family. A talented musician, he played with the band Morning Dew as a singer-songwriter. Geoff enjoyed crosswords, Scrabble, and never started his day without a coffee – always with three sugars and two creams.
