Obituary of Heather Valerie Walker

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Heather Valerie Walker (nee Grant), aged 83, of Belle River, Ontario. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Heather peacefully departed this life, surrounded by her beloved family.

Born on August 13, 1942, in Montreal, Quebec, Heather was a devoted partner to her late husband, Graham Bryan Walker, who predeceased her in 2018. Their romance began in Laval West, Quebec, where they met. They married in 1961, embarking on a beautiful journey together that was marked by deep love and companionship. Graham was not only her husband but her steadfast champion, lovingly caring for her and supporting her throughout their life together, right until his own passing.

Graham always dreamed of being a cowboy, and Heather was supportive. They spent many fulfilling years on a hobby farm near Campbellville, Ontario, where Graham kept a great variety of animals, while Heather mostly managed to keep a comfortable distance.

Together, they embraced a shared passion for travel, exploring the vast landscapes of North America on countless adventures. Heather was a strong and capable woman who worked hard, enjoyed life, and took immense pride in her family. Her heart was forever intertwined with Graham’s, and together they created a legacy of love that will be cherished by their children and grandchildren.

Heather will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Eric (Carole) and Scott (Christine), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Alex (Shannon) and Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Cancer Research Society in Heather's memory. Her spirit, alongside Graham’s enduring love, will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
