Obituary of John Edward Banks

John Edward Banks, a cherished son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, in his hometown of Windsor, where he was also born on May 23, 1950. Known for his robust laughter and the twinkle in his eye, John's presence was a beacon of joy for all who knew him.

John's life was a testament to his enduring love and commitment to his family. He shared 44 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved spouse Cheryl, a loving partnership that served as the foundation of their close-knit family. He was a devoted son to his parents, John Banks and Shirley Banks, and a caring stepson to Barbara. His legacy continues through his children Jenna (Mike), Bobby (Ryann), and Johnny (Jessica). He took immense pride in each of their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent with them.  John's grandchildren, Blake, Johnny, Madilynn, Julz, Emily, and Jordy, were the lights of his life. He will be missed by many siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews.  John will be missed by his dog Laya.

Professionally, John was the proud owner of Banks Alignment, a well-respected business he operated for many years. His clients and employees knew him as "Tim the Tool Man," a nickname that reflected his incredible skill and passion for his craft. John's love for Nascar and all things motor was more than a hobby; it was a way of life. He found great pleasure in racing and snowmobiling  with friends and was an admired figure in the local motorsports community for his knowledge and enthusiasm.

Beyond his work, John was actively involved in numerous associations, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed his expertise generously, alumni of Brentwood Recovery Home . His hands were rarely still, as he was always tinkering, fixing, or improving something. This handyman's spirit was a source of inspiration and problem-solving for those around him.

As we remember John Edward Banks, we celebrate a life lived with vigor, kindness, and love. His laughter will echo in our hearts, and his stories will continue to be told with fondness and admiration. John's impact on our lives is immeasurable, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
