Miriam "Mia" Abu Halaga Ducharme | November 8, 1970 – June 23, 2026
With profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Miriam "Mia" Abu Halaga Ducharme on June 23, 2026, at her home in Windsor, Ontario, at the age of 55.
Born on November 8, 1970, Miriam lived a life marked by compassion, faith, service, and genuine love for others. She deeply believed that, while people may call upon God by many names, there is only one everlasting, true, and living God. The One who provided for her, healed her, comforted her, strengthened her, sustained her, and loved her throughout her life's journey.
Miriam was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need. She had an extraordinary ability to make people feel welcomed, valued, and understood. Whether offering encouragement, sharing wisdom, or simply listening, Miriam touched countless lives through her kindness and generosity.
A devoted animal lover, Miriam found great joy and companionship in her beloved cats. She loved music, singing and playing the piano, bringing her joyful spirit to life. An avid reader, she spent many a night reading into the wee hours. She also had a wonderful creative eye and made every home she lived in beautiful and inviting.
Miriam was a highly respected Human Resources and Payroll Professional. Throughout her career, she was recognized for her integrity, professionalism, and commitment to helping others succeed. Her colleagues admired her intelligence, reliability, calm demeanour, and ability to navigate complex situations with wisdom and grace. She was not only a skilled professional but also a trusted advisor, mentor, and friend whose influence extended far beyond the workplace.
Above all else, Miriam will be remembered for the relationships she nurtured and the love she shared. Her friendships were deep and enduring, and she leaves behind countless people whose lives were enriched by knowing her.
Miriam leaves to mourn her loving parents, Heidi and Farouq, her siblings, Rosie (Brian), Lilian (Jens), Ellen, and Gamal (Elke), her nieces, Isabel and Simone, and her nephew, Benjamin (Taylor), as well as extended family members, friends, colleagues, neighbours, and all whose lives she touched.
Though her earthly journey has ended, her legacy of kindness, faith, compassion, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Do not continue to cry
I have cried enough
I have mourned the losses
I have prayed a lifetime for peace
I am finally at rest
I see the beauty that I sought on earth
I sing the songs now in perfect pitch
I am rejoicing
I am completely healed
I am free, forever free.
