Obituary of Thelma C. Percy
Mom was called home to God 17 June 2020. She was pre-deceased by her husband Kenneth and her son James. She is survived by son K. Duncan and daughter Mary as well as grand-daughters Tamara and Kalauna ; great-grandchildren Shamara, Romello, Karizzma, Chalysia, Jahkhi, Dyson, Tyrus, Tamoya, Teigan and T'rue; great-great grand-children Xaviere, Kendrick and Kaiba as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom proudly served in the Royal Canadian Women’s Naval Service during World War II and was a member of Paulin Memorial Presbyterian Church involved with the church's Sunday School for many years. As well she was a dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star, holding Deputy Grand Matron, Past Matron and other offices in several city and county chapters. After raising her family, Mom devoted her time to volunteering with Grace Hospital and, after it closed, Hotel Dieu Grace in the gift shops, coffee bar and outpatient clinics amassing a total of volunteer hours which may never be surpassed. She also volunteered in the Century Secondary School remedial reading program. Mom was a voracious reader as well as a skilled sewer and quilter gifting her creations to family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the seventh floor WRH Ouellette Campus for the exemplary care and many kindnesses shown Mom.

Cremation and internment have taken place with a celebration of Thelma's life to be scheduled at a later date.
