I had the pleasure of knowing Mac from my days working in The Windsor Star newsroom for 40 years, beginning May 1967.
Back then, all of the employees knew each other, regardless of what department we worked in, so we attended Star parties together, retirement parties and sadly, funerals.
Mac always wore a smile and had a friendly word -- one of the nicest guys to work at The Star.
My condolences to his loving family. Rest easy Mac. You will be missed. Gail Pirie
